Founder & Principal, Strawpath

I've spent more than twenty-five years inside financial services technology, helping institutions make decisions they cannot afford to get wrong. I founded Strawpath to bring that experience directly to the leaders who need it.

My career has run through Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Barclays, Mastercard, Smart Pension and Charity Bank, leading technology strategy, enterprise architecture and delivery for organisations ranging from FTSE 100 banks to high-growth fintechs. I've delivered over £100M in technology-enabled outcomes, built and scaled engineering teams, and advised CEOs, boards and investors on the decisions that shape the next five years.

Technology selection is one of the most consequential decisions a financial institution makes. Buyers are asked to compare platforms they may live with for a decade against demos, decks and reference calls curated by the vendors themselves. Strawpath offers the perspective of someone who has sat on the buying side, run the architecture, and stayed close to where the market is genuinely heading.

Sectors & experience

Strawpath's work spans retail banking, challenger banks and pensions, covering core banking platforms, CRM, payments and integration architecture. Engagements range from community development finance institutions to mid-size UK banks, giving a clear read on what works at different scales of complexity, regulation and ambition.

How Strawpath stays ahead of the market

Alongside client work, Strawpath advises technology founders and new market entrants. That seat inside product development, not just vendor selection, surfaces emerging capability long before it reaches RFPs, decks or analyst reports. Every client engagement is shaped by what's actually being built, not what's being sold.
